Hello one and all – this review is from one of our associates over on Great PC Games, about a TV show called “I Wanna Marry Harry”. Description for the show in the review – apparently, this show was cancelled halfway through its first series… But what did Fungus think?
The series premise is simple enough. Get a few gullible American women and convince them that Prince Harry is looking for a wife. Harry himself is played by a passable lookalike, and the women must have been especially selected for their character. They are truly nasty. It’s all whooping and hollering, and all about the money.
Let me explain. So many times I have heard the line ‘This is so romantic’ where it is actually just expensive. A firework show over a floodlit castle is a nice example of this. It did look impressive, and maybe it could be seen as romantic, but I have been to firework shows and have never heard anyone call them romantic.
They also keep claiming to be ‘falling in love with him’. Again I find this disturbing. Is it the fact that he’s a ‘Prince’? Is it the money and environment that they are hoping to grasp? The answer to this can only honestly be answered by the contestants, but I believe that if you had put the same guy in a Peckham flat on a minimum wage job he wouldn’t have stood a chance with any of them. And that’s a shame, because he played the role very well.
This is a great psychology experiment in the guise of entertainment. It’s an interesting look at how some people can delude themselves into believing that Prince Harry would actually be involved in something this unpleasant.
This is dross on an epic scale. It appeals to the side of us that want to see grasping, vacuous bimbos get the rough end of the stick for a change, and shows us, the viewer as less that we really are.
